Jefferson County Commission

Post  n4k on Tue Oct 14, 2008 12:51 pm

They voted down the bankruptcy. http://blog.al.com/spotnews/2008/10/commission_rejects_sewer_bankr.html

And then Collins proposes a plan that will raise our sewer bills: http://www.al.com/news/birminghamnews/metro.ssf?/base/news/1223972122188490.xml&coll=2

I don't know about you guys, but I can NOT afford for my water bill/sewer rate to increase 20% to cover the crooks wasteful indulgence!

Anyone know when the county commission's term expires? It can't be soon enough!!!

Their terms expire...

I just called the office for Collins and Smoot and their terms expire 2010. So, we will just have to remember all that they have done and not done.

There's a great article in Fortune magazine, kinda takes you through the history of the sewer debacle.

You can access it through CNN Money, look for Fortune (not Fortune 500) then look for the article on Birmingham sewer.

Takes you through the entire soap opera, all the way up to the as yet unindicted Larry Langford as mayor.

we cannot do anything about collins and smoot. it is not a countywide vote. we can only vote for/against humphries. he is district 3.
